Compass watches are capable of providing all the information outdoor adventurers need on land, water or air. These are usually technologically advanced watches that are also equipped with barometer, altimeters and thermometers.
All of these devices are typically needed by most outdoor adventurers. Each device has its own use. There are watches with all of those features and functions. Some of these are even GPS enabled.
The features one needs
Barometer watches are loved by weather buffs. In general, these watches have weather forecast features. This feature can also help anyone who tends to engage in outdoor trips for more than a day. In addition, one cannot always anticipate weather forecasts to be accurate and a barometer watch can warn the user about changes in weather conditions.
Altimeters usually work together with barometers. There are two types of barometers. One gets the information through GPS technology. The other gets the altitude by computing for it using atmospheric pressure. Barometers are the devices that get atmospheric pressure.
The best altimeter ones will also provide real time ascent or descent rate. This is important for both skydivers and mountain climbers. A skydiver will then know when to release his parachute. On the other hand, a mountain climber can avoid getting altitude sickness.
Thermometers are devices which virtually everyone uses. It gets temperature readings. Watches with thermometers usually have to be removed if one wants to know the temperature in the area. Otherwise, it usually gets the temperature of the person wearing it.

Having all these features and functions in one watch is quite convenient and practical. A person will no longer have to bring several devices just to get all the information he or she needs.
A multi-function watch is extremely useful for outdoor adventurers. Compasses can help them get to where they want to go. It can also help them find their way back. Barometers, altimeters and thermometers have their own use as well.
Regardless of the number of features and functions a watch has, it still has to be relatively easy to use. At a glance, the user should be able to get the information one needs. Due to the fact that the watch is on their wrist, people can get the information regardless of what they are doing.
