We hear so much said about generics but I think it is still a term that confuses many people, for some reason we use a brand and stick to it which is fair enough we stick with what we trust. Sometimes you look in the supermarket and buy a food product non branded and it doesn’t taste the same and we then have this idea that only the branded items will do.
With medication it is different, medication has to have the same ingredients who ever makes it. When you buy a generic Frontline Plus product it has to contain the same quantities of active ingredients as the branded product, it is only recently that there have been any generic Frontline Plus products on the market that have been cheap enough to entice us away fromn the branded Frontline. I suppose as long as the offers are about we may as well take advantage of them but if their price starts to rise again then we can always revert back to the original.
Depending on where you live you may may be very happy to use Frontline Plus and there is no problem with that, if however you feel that you need some extra protection for your pet then you may want to try K9 Advantix. With Advantix immature fleas are also targeted, Advantix has an insect development inhibitor, this is designed to make sure that juvenile fleas do not grow to maturity. Obviously if we can stop fleas growing to maturity then they are never going to start breeding and they are never going to bite either, happy days. Although Advantix can stop flying insects biting this cannot be guaranteed, this is why it is important if you live in an area with a heartworm problem you must make sure your pet has a separate heartworm treatment.
